This is a fun family activity you can do the week prior to our Epiphany Feast Day celebration on January 7 and 8.
Beginning Sunday, January 1, as a family, read about the Birth of Jesus from the Gospel of Matthew, 1:18-2:12. Move the Wise Men out of your Nativity into another room or under your Christmas tree. Each day read two to three verses of the Gospel, moving the Wise Men forward on their journey to Bethlehem. On Sunday, January 8, finish reading the story of Jesus’ birth, moving the Wise Men to the Manger of your Nativity.
Parents and children can take turns reading the Gospel and moving the Wise Men. It is a neat activity that helps to move our hearts from all the wrapping paper and tinsel of Christmas to the manger and the birth of our Savior Jesus.
