Children's Ministries

These ministries give lay members of the church the opportunity to lead and form our youngest parishioners. Training, on-going formation, and support are provided for all children's ministries. Our children and youth need leaders who can nurture their faith journey and connect them to the love of the Lord. We strive to not just teach children, but rather equip, empower and encourage the formation of future saints.  Please fill out the form on this page to be contacted about serving in any of these roles.

Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered during the 9 AM (St. Joseph) and 10:30 AM (Holy Family) Masses for children ages 4-7. Adult leaders facilitate an age appropriate Liturgy of the Word with the children in attendance. Plans and materials are provided for those assisting with this important ministry. Consider this ministry as a parent and high school-aged teen TEAM!

Sunday Morning Catechists (Grades 1 and 2)
During the Fall we offer Faith Formation to our 1st and 2nd grade children from 9:00-10:15AM at Holy Family Church. Adult Aids are needed to assist in the classroom, alongside the Coordinator of the Children's Programs. Plans and materials are provided for those assisting with this ministry. This is also an opportunity for youth who have been confirmed to serve their parish!

Wednesday Evening Catechists (Grades 3-10)
During the Fall we offer Faith Formation to our 3rd through 10th grade youth from 6:00-8:00PM at St. Joseph Church. Adult leaders are needed to lead classroom gatherings and teach youth the provided lessons. Ongoing support and materials are provided to those leaders. 

First Sacrament Catechists (Grade 2)
During the Spring we prepare children in grade 2 for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. This is offered to children on Sunday Mornings from 9:00AM-10:15AM at Holy Family Church. Adult leaders are needed to lead the classroom gatherings and teach the children the provided lessons. Ongoing support and materials are provided to those leaders who work alongside the Coordinator of the Children's Programs.

Confirmation Small Group Leaders (Grade 10)
During the Spring we prepare youth in Grade 10 for Confirmation. These gatherings are offered to youth on Wednesday Evenings from 7:00PM-9:00PM at Holy Family Church. Small groups foster opportunities for the youth to discuss important faith topics. Each small group needs an Adult leader to facilitate these discussions. Adult leaders work alongside the Faith Formation Director. All plans and materials are provided to those assisting with this ministry. 

Faith Formation Volunteers
During the Fall, there are numerous weekly activities for the youth during their Wednesday night gatherings. These can include outdoor games, bonfires, game nights, service projects and family nights. All of these need volunteer support to be successful. This ministry is a perfect opportunity for a flexible and limited requirement to serve. Your time, talent or treasures are vital to our program.

Youth Ministry Volunteers
Youth Ministry hosts regular gatherings and activities for youth in grades 8th through 12th. This ministry is looking for young adults who are active and engaged in their faith to support these events. Volunteer for this ministry and enjoy building up the next generation of young adults to continue to love and serve the Lord.  

Children's RCIA (Rite of Christian Acceptance) Catechist
RCIA is the process of becoming Catholic as an adult or older child, and is community process involving education and formation into the Catholic faith and way of life. Adults and older children meet separately so the formation is age appropriate. Volunteering for this ministry is a wonderful way to welcome whole families into the faith by accompanying the families' older children as they learn. This volunteer commitment varies, but is generally needed Sunday's after Mass during the school year.
