Catholic perspective on Advanced Care Directives; Offering clarity on complex issues
Learn how you can express your wishes regarding your own health care. Review available options using advance health directives and durable power of attorney for health care. Specific questions will be considered sharing the Church’s guidance on these important decisions:
When should I use, and when can I forego, medical treatments?
If I cannot eat, must a feeding tube be used?
When is a do-not-resuscitate order appropriate?
How far should I go in asking for pain relief?
This program will share the Church's guidance on making these health care decisions.
The first session will be held at three different locations, It is designed to give you an overview of Church policy and medical treatments, will be held on:
Monday, November 5, 2018 in Clear Lake 7:00 -8:30 at St. Patrick’s
Sunday, November 18, 2018 in Rockwell at 3:00 at the Parish Hall.
Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Mason City at 1:00 at St. Joseph’s
Participants will leave the first session with material designed for talking with family and the opportunity to make decisions.
The second session will answer questions to finalize your health care decisions.
